Pastor Who

Culpeper UMC was blessed to have one lead pastor for 15 years. Pastor Randy was instrumental in the life of the congregation. After such a lengthy time working together, this transition will be difficult. After all, Pastor Randy was involved in so many aspects of your lives – baptizing your newest additions, preaching God's Word regularly, teaching the faith to your children and youth, officiating weddings, offering counsel, visiting in your homes, doing mission work, and walking with you in grief circumstances (diagnoses of cancer, uncertain surgeries, and the death of your loved ones). Praise God for Pastor Randy and his 15-year ministry.

 

And so, perhaps many of you are asking questions like this - “Who is this new pastor?” “Can we trust him?” “Will he work well at Culpeper UMC?” “What else will change at church?” “How will the new guy work with the staff and congregation?”

 

To help answer some of these questions I will offer a sermon series entitled “Pastor Who?” for the month of July. I will share four scripture passages important in my life and how God shaped me through them. To be sure, the Holy Spirit has worked through the Bible to transform my heart and mind. As you learn these Bible passages from my life, I look forward to hearing from you – knowing Jesus has placed certain scripture(s) in your heart too. How has Christ worked through the Bible to transform your heart and mind?
