The CUMC Men’s ABLAZE Ministry is pleased to announce the acceptance of nominations for this year’s Good Samaritan Award. The purpose of the Good Samaritan Award is to provide United Methodist Churches a means to recognize
individual youth who demonstrate the attributes of the Good Samaritan described in Luke 10:25-37, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as
This award recognizes ministry to others through outreach, humanitarian assistance, or advocacy. The candidates must demonstrate “significant” personal and selfless contributions toward others or assistance to individuals in
Criteria for nominating a candidate:
Currently, active youth members of the Culpeper United Methodist Church
between the ages of 6 and 30 (has not reached 30th birthday) are eligible.
Nominations made by an adult (other than a parent) familiar with the
youth’s outstanding service (pastor, scout leader, scouting coordinator,
youth minister or coordinator, or an adult member of Culpeper United
Methodist Church, for example).
The recipient is participating in outreach ministry within the context of the
local United Methodist church giving the award.
Nomination forms are available at. Return completed nomination forms to the CUMC office by Sunday, March 29.
Up to four recipients of the award will be announced on Sunday, May 3rd .
