Older Adults Ministry

The Older Adult Ministry is an emerging ministry at CUMC. 

• The Cornerstone is a bi-monthly newsletter geared for persons 60 years and older. If you would like to receive this bimonthly newsletter please contact the church office at 540-825-0764.

• Golden Friends enjoy studying the Bible one book at a time while enjoying times of fellowship. Currently they are studying the Book of Proverbs.  Once a month they go to lunch for fellowship time.  For more information please contact John Staples, or you may call the church office at 825-0764.

• Our Senior Moments group meets each Thursday from 1- 3:30 in the Community Room to enjoy fellowship and playing cards.  

Friendship Chain Program

    God desires us to care for each other. Winter 2010 was exceptionally snowy and summer 2010 broke high temperature records.  After such weather extremes concern about the health, safety and welfare of persons living alone has been expressed at Culpeper United Methodist Church.

     A system has been established where contact is made every few days to  those persons who live alone so they do not feel as lonely or isolated. There may be times when people agree that daily contact is needed. The contact might be via telephone or e-mail.

     While the Friendship Chain is focused on our church family, if you are aware of others who might benefit from receiving phone calls or e mails please contact Pastor Norma Jean Fellows by email pastornjf@culpeperumc.org or telephone 540-825-0764 extension 14.
